Elderly Man Allegedly Knocked To Ground After Patting Child's Head

A family has appealed for information after an elderly man in his 70s was allegedly injured during a confrontation at a coffee shop. According to an IG post, the man is their father and has previous leg and hip injuries.

According to the post, CCTV footage showed the elderly man walking past a table while using nearby tables for support. He was seen reaching out to pat a young child on the head as he passed.

The child's father then confronted the elderly man, the family member claimed.

They said the confrontation escalated, causing their father to fall to the ground and sustain injuries. Family members who were present at the coffee shop subsequently helped him up.

The post said the man later sat down with the elderly man, apologised and offered him a drink. However, the family member claimed their father subsequently experienced severe back pain following the incident.

The family is now seeking information to identify the man involved and said it wants the matter to be addressed appropriately. It also stressed that it was not seeking to encourage harassment or confrontation.
