Singapore-Thailand Tickets Resold for Up to $1,500 After Semi-Final Sells Out Within Minutes

Tickets for Singapore's highly anticipated ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 semi-final against Thailand have appeared on resale platforms for heavily inflated prices, shortly after the match sold out within minutes on Wednesday (Aug 12)
The Lions will host Thailand in the first leg of the semi-finals at Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday (Aug 15), with kick-off scheduled for 9pm.
Tickets went on sale online at 11am on Wednesday, with Category 1 seats originally priced at $49 and Category 2 at $35.
More than 4,000 home tickets were snapped up rapidly, with some fans reporting that seats were unavailable within a minute of sales opening.
The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) confirmed the sell-out about 90 minutes later.
Soon after, tickets surfaced on Carousell at significantly inflated prices. One listing offered a pair of Category 1 tickets for $1,500 each, or $3,000 for the pair - more than 30 times the original price of $49 per ticket.
The limited supply comes as the match is being held at the 6,000-seat Jalan Besar Stadium instead of the 55,000-seat National Stadium, which was used for the National Day Parade on Aug 9 and requires about 21/2 weeks for the set-up to be dismantled and the pitch prepared.
Thailand supporters were allocated 10 per cent of available seats, which were purchased in full by the Football Association of Thailand.
Singapore reached the semi-finals after finishing second in Group A, recording wins over Cambodia and Timor-Leste and draws against defending champions Vietnam and Indonesia.
It is the Lions' third semi-final appearance in the last four editions of the regional tournament.
The Lions will travel to Bangkok for the second leg against Thailand at Rajamangala Stadium on Aug 18, with a place in the ASEAN Hyundai Cup final at stake.
