A popular local snack bar has drawn criticism online after posting a video advertisement that many viewers felt made fun of people with allergies.

In the video, a woman walked up to the counter and told the staff that she has several food allergies, including gluten, nuts and flour. She then asked what items would be suitable for her.
The staff member then repeats, "What should you get?" before he moved towards the customer and guided her out of the store, while repeating the allergies listed.
The scene then showed the staff asking her to wait outside before he returned with a plain cup of water and saying, "This is for you." The punchline appeared to imply that, given her allergies, water was the only thing she could have.
Following the online backlash, one of the owners, Syarif, posted an apology on Threads, acknowledging that the video was an oversight. He also shared that the team had reached out to members of the "food allergy community" who were upset by the content.
Syarif clarified that the video was never meant to target the community or make light of food allergies. The advertisement has since been taken down from the since been brand's page.
