AirAsia co-founder Tony Fernandes has praised Singapore Airlines' service and inflight internet connectivity, but criticised the quality of its food.


Fernandes shared photos of his SIA flight on IG on 1 Oct 2026, saying he had flown with the airline after being unable to get an AirAsia flight.


"Service was great, internet amazing," he wrote, before adding that the "food was poor"


Fernandes also praised AirAsia's inflight catering brand Santan, describing it as "far far better" and saying the SIA crew agreed.

His comments come shortly after SIA announced plans to introduce more than 100 new and refreshed dishes across all cabin classes as part of its revamped dining offering.
