Brunei's Officer Cadet School Marks 18th Anniversary With Hajat Prayer In Singapore

The Officer Cadet School (OCS) of the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) marked its 18th anniversary with a Hajat Prayer ceremony at the SAFTI Military Institute (SAFTI MI) in Singapore on 26 Aug 2026, according to an Instagram post by DA RBAF.

The ceremony was led by OCS DA RBAF Commanding Officer Lieutenant-Colonel Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli and attended by officers, instructors, staff and officer cadets.

The post said the anniversary provided an opportunity for OCS personnel to reflect on the school's development and recognise the contributions of past and present personnel.

It added that the commemoration reaffirmed OCS' commitment to developing future RBAF leaders and preparing them for the responsibilities and challenges of commissioned service.

The ceremony comes as Brunei's OCS Intake 25 spent three weeks at SAFTI MI in August 2026 for an Urban Operations Training Package, where the officer cadets trained alongside their Singaporean counterparts.

Singapore and Brunei have maintained close military ties, with officer cadets from both countries regularly taking part in joint training and exchanges at their respective Officer Cadet Schools.
