In light of reports that police have allegedly caught on camera shoving a 73-year-old man at a food court along East Coast Road, some social media users have begun speculating that the couple seen in the footage could be former Workers' Party member Nicole Seah and her husband, Bryan.

The speculation began largely on forums such as Reddit before spreading to other social media platforms, including Facebook and Threads.

Online users first circulated older photographs of Seah and her husband, comparing them with images of the man and woman captured in the CCTV footage.

This has prompted some online users to comment on the perceived resemblance between photographs of Seah and her husband and the couple seen in the CCTV footage.

Some netizens have also attempted to compare photographs of Seah's feet with CCTV images of the woman at the food court, pointing to what they claimed was a similarity in the appearance of one of her toes.

The speculation has also been accompanied by the resurfacing of an old social media post in which a woman accused Seah's husband of allegedly taunting and instigating a confrontation with her fiancé in Bugis.

In the post, the woman also questioned why Seah had allegedly not intervened.

The old allegation has since been recirculated by netizens discussing the food court incident, with some drawing parallels between the two alleged encounters. However, the claims in the old post have not been independently verified.

At the time of writing, Seah and her husband have not issued any statement addressing or denying the claims, while the Singapore Police Force (SPF) has urged members of the public "not to speculate on the incident or its circumstances"

The incident came to public attention after Bei-Ing Wanton Noodle appealed on social media for information about the man involved and posted CCTV footage of the confrontation at its outlet.

According to the elderly man's family, he had difficulty walking and was using nearby tables for support when he reached out to pat the girl's head as he walked past.

The child's father allegedly confronted him, with the CCTV footage showing the older man being shoved and falling to the ground.
