S'porean Mum Of Seven With Four Partners Faces Backlash As Netizens Call Her Life Decisions "Stupid"

A 36-year-old Singaporean woman (a mum) has shared her experiences raising seven children with four different partners, including becoming a mother at the age of 17.
Identified as Pearlyn, she appeared on local podcast So $crewed, hosted by Popping SG and Chicken Genius Singapore, where she spoke about her relationships, motherhood and financial struggles.
However, the podcast has drawn criticism online, with some netizens even calling the decisions made by Pearlyn and her current husband "stupid" and "irresponsible"

Some also questioned her decision to encourage her husband to quit his stable job.

During the interview, Pearlyn described her life as "nine out of 10 screwed", citing the financial difficulties she and her current husband are facing.
Her husband, a former army regular, was declared bankrupt after accumulating about $70,000 in debt. He also has to make monthly maintenance payments to his former wife.
Pearlyn said she is currently supporting four of her seven children, with their expenses amounting to about $4,000 a month.
She works 12-hour days as a private-hire driver, earning around $3,000 monthly, while her husband earns between $300 and $700 from part-time work.
Despite their financial difficulties, Pearlyn maintained a positive outlook during the interview, saying there was little point dwelling on the negative aspects of life.
Pearlyn said her first pregnancy was intentional, explaining that she had always wanted children and had a strong maternal instinct from a young age.
She subsequently had two children with her second partner, whom she married before leaving the relationship due to his alleged infidelity.
She later had another two children with a third partner, but the marriage ended following tensions with her in-laws and an incident in which he allegedly abused her son, who has ADHD.
Pearlyn eventually met her current husband, with whom she has two more children, aged five and six.
