Ustaz Iqbal Rozali, a former student of Madrasah Al-Irsyad and Madrasah Wak Tanjong, recently shared his thoughts on madrasah education in an Instagram post that has received 373 reposts and 632 shares at the time of publication.

He said madrasah education is not simply about producing asatizah, but also about building religious understanding and knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah.

He explained that some parents choose madrasah to give their children an Islamic learning environment, where they can learn about solat, aurat and proper boundaries.

Ustaz Iqbal shared that many of his former classmates did not become asatizah, but pursued careers in business, administration and IT.

He also added that religious knowledge remains important regardless of one's career, including for doctors, business owners, leaders and parents.

On concerns about an oversupply of Asatizah, he suggested better education planning and more career opportunities instead of limiting access to Madrasah education.
