Bella Astillah and Syed Saddiq wed, Pritam Singh and Ong Ye Kung among guests

Malaysian singer-actress Bella Astillah and Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman officially tied the knot today (Oct 10), with the marriage solemnised in a single recitation of the marriage vows and a mas kahwin of RM500.

The ceremony took place on the 118th floor of Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur and was broadcast live by Astro.

Singapore's Health Minister Ong Ye Kung, Pritam Singh and former foreign minister George Yeo were seen at the ceremony.

Other prominent guests included Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, former Malaysian prime ministers Muhyiddin Yassin and Ismail Sabri Yaakob, and former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Among Syed Saddiq's hantaran, or wedding gifts, to Bella were postgraduate studies in communications, a gold piece resembling Mount Kinabalu and an umrah pilgrimage gift.

Bella's gifts to Syed Saddiq included an Ironman-inspired gold piece and tickets for an Ultraman endurance event.

The newlyweds will continue their celebrations with a reception at MITEC in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 18, followed by public "Kenduri Rakyat" receptions in Muar on Oct 25 and Kota Kinabalu on Oct 31.
