Crow Shooting Returns After Suspension in 2020, With Viral Videos Showing Operations Across Singapore

A video posted by TikTok user shazzii88 has gone viral, appearing to show a man shooting crows in Tampines.
This follows another viral video by IG content creator Glen Lim showing a crow-culling operation near Aljunied MRT station, which drew curious onlookers who appeared to mistake the gunshots for an incident.
The video showed officers carrying out the shooting behind a barricade, while auxiliary police officers directed members of the public to remain behind a cordoned-off area for safety.

One netizen also claimed that the practice was suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic.
CNA reported that the operations were suspended in 2020 after shotgun pellets fired by auxiliary police officers struck nearby homes, raising public safety concerns.
During the suspension, NParks continued managing the crow population through trapping, nest removal and efforts to reduce food sources.
Crow-shooting operations resumed in Singapore in March 2026, with NParks progressively expanding them to more areas based on crow population numbers, site safety and the suitability of trapping as an alternative.
NParks has since introduced measures including cordoned-off zones, signage and additional personnel to manage public access.
Crows are an invasive, non-native species that can threaten local biodiversity and cause noise and hygiene issues.
