A video circulating on social media has sparked controversy after appearing to show a group of Argentine football fans throwing beer and hurling insults at Egyptian supporters following Argentina's 3-2 victory over Egypt at the FIFA World Cup.
The footage, which has been widely shared online, allegedly shows Argentine supporters spraying alcohol towards Egyptian fans while mocking them after the match.
Another video circulating on social media has also gone viral, purportedly showing security personnel outside Mercedes-Benz Stadium ahead of the Egypt-Argentina match checking only Egypt supporters while allowing Argentina fans to pass through without inspection.
The footage prompted some social media users to accuse security of racial profiling during the FIFA World Cup in the United States.
The incident comes amid a separate case involving IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr, who was livestreaming Argentina's World Cup match from the stands.
Footage appeared to show an Argentina supporter directing racist remarks at the American content creator, including telling him to "go cry at the zoo" and calling him a "n*gger"
FIFA has since condemned the racist abuse, reiterating that racism, hate and discrimination "have no place in football, at the FIFA World Cup, or anywhere in society"
