A parent has raised concerns after their daughter was allegedly approached by a 14-year-old boy while walking home from tuition near a playground.
According to the parent, the boy, who was wearing basketball attire, asked the girl for her name and whether she wanted to "do something fun"
He allegedly persuaded her to follow him to a nearby block, where he displayed sexually inappropriate behaviour and asked to use her phone to search for obscene videos.
The parent said the boy searched for terms including "LuXX CXX videos" on the girl's phone. The fact that he allegedly did not have a phone or wallet with him also raised concerns that the encounter may have been pre-planned.
A resident reportedly noticed that something was amiss after seeing the girl distressed outside his unit. He intervened and called the police.
The resident later told the family that, a few days earlier, his two nieces, including one aged 10, had allegedly been approached by a boy matching the same description at the playground. The girls reportedly managed to run home.
The matter has been reported to the police, with investigations ongoing.
The parent has urged other families to report any similar incidents to the police, saying such information could assist with the investigation. They also advised members of the public not to confront or publicly identify anyone, and to leave the matter to the authorities.
