A group of seniors are bringing Singapore's food heritage to life through handcrafted crochet creations under a community initiative by Carer Official.
The initiative sees elderly crafters producing crocheted versions of traditional local delicacies, including ang ku kueh, putu piring, ondeh-ondeh and kueh lapis.
The handmade items are sold to the public, providing seniors with an opportunity to remain active, engaged and involved in meaningful work.
According to Carer Official, the project seeks to empower seniors through craft-making while celebrating Singapore's rich food culture.
Each piece is carefully crocheted by hand, transforming familiar local treats into keepsakes that evoke memories of home and childhood.
Members of the public can view and purchase the crochet creations at Raffles Xchange from 22 to 26 June, between 11am and 7pm.
